Tusayan’s diverse habitat is home to everything from majestic Elk to Short-horned Lizards. The wild spaces that surround Tusayan provide unrivaled wildlife viewing opportunities. Along the roadways or greenway trails you are likely to see Elk, Mule Deer, Big Horn Sheep, Turkeys, Pronghorn Antelope, Wild Horses, Javalina, and Squirrels. Click here for more information on these wild animals, birds and other species.
Please keep our wildlife wild by not feeding them and make sure to keep your distance of these animals. It is not in the best interest of the wildlife as it often leads to property damage and safety issues for people. Some of these animals will become defensive if you get too close.
Tusayan’s abundant plant life includes Ponderosa Pine trees, Pinyon Pine trees, Gambel Oak trees, Sagebrush, cacti, and hundreds of herbaceous wildflowers.
Tusayan is also a great home base for hunters that are lucky enough to get drawn in Arizona Unit 9. For
